Principal's Welcome

Dear Parents and Guardians:

Park Elementary School is proud to be recognized as an A+ School of Excellence!!

It is a great honor to be a recipient of the award that is given annually to schools in the state of Arizona by the Arizona Education Foundation. It reflects what our staff, students, parents and community have achieved.

The A+ School of Excellence™ Program was created by the Arizona Educational Foundation in 1983. Its purpose is threefold:

  • to identify and give public recognition to outstanding public schools in Arizona;
  • to make available a comprehensive framework of key criteria for school effectiveness that can serve as a basis for participatory self-assessment and planning in schools;
  • to facilitate communication and sharing of best practices within and among schools based on a common criteria related to success.

As an A+ School of Excellence, Park Elementary is recognized for the measures that have been implemented that fosters a positive and caring environment. We are committed to our students and our families to maintain high quality instruction that is rigorous and ultimately impact our student achievement.

We are proud of our dedicated, experienced staff and enthusiastic learners! As demands and complexities of teaching children increase, it becomes more evident that we all need to work together to insure that our children reach their potential. We believe that all of us – the school and the community – must work together in an extended family environment to insure success for all our students. We believe it is everyone’s responsibility to empower children with the creative, intellectual, and decision-making skills necessary for them to become physically, academically, socially, and emotionally successful, which supports our District PASS Plan. It is our intent to address the whole child.

At Park Elementary School, we strive to provide a safe, harmonious and caring environment where all students are challenged to reach their potential and to experience success throughout their academic careers. It is our aspirations that each child recognizes their potential and actively participates, which enhances their overall learning experiences. In order to achieve these results, we enlist your assistance. Research clearly supports that when parents/guardians are involved in their child’s education, there is greater likelihood of academic success for that child.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher or myself.

Guidelines for Visitors

Visitors are welcome at Park school. Please observe the following guidelines:

  • All visitors should report to the office during school hours to secure a visitor's pass. A staff member will assist you at that time.
  • Please do not go to the classrooms during the instructional hours of 8:10 a.m. to 3:00 pm unless you are signing in as a parent volunteer.
  • Please come to the office and your child will be called if you need to see him or her.
  • Teachers are available for conferences during  specials,  before and after school. You may leave a message for your child’s teacher if you need a conference. Your cooperation in this matter is appreciated.
  • You should wear a “ Visitors Pass ” while in the building. All staff members have been instructed to approach and greet visitors in the school and offer assistance.

These guidelines will help to ensure a safe environment and fewer disruptions to instructional time (8:10 a.m. to 3:00 pm). I appreciate your cooperation.

Picking Up Students
  •  Anytime during the school day, from 8:10 a.m. to 3:00 pm., parents should meet students in the office and sign them out before leaving the school grounds. If someone other than a parent or guardian will be picking up a student, please send a note or call the school to let the office know. Please have identification ready when picking up a student. School staff may not always recognize parents, guardians, or family members. Students will not be released if the office has not been previously notified, proper authorization cannot be validated, or if there are any questions about the early release of a student. If you send a note for your child to picked up by someone other than a parent, please have a number where you can be reached in case there are any questions.

Students Arriving Early/Late
  •  Students should not arrive before 7:40 a.m. If a student arrives after 8:15 a.m., you must come to the main office and sign your child in with the Attendance Clerk.

School Absences
  • Please call the school if your child will be absent. You may call 524-6138. Park Elementary School's’ attendance policy requires that students attend school unless they are sick or out of town. Please note, even if you call in, the absence may not be excused based on the State requirements.

It is important for students to be in school. Whenever a student misses school, there are learning experiences and opportunities missed which cannot be made up. Please encourage your child to be in attendance everyday. If your child is not here, she or he cannot learn!
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call. I look forward to working with you and your child throughout the school year to provide a productive and safe learning environment that supports student success.
