Holbrook Maintenance and Operations Override

On Tuesday, November 6, 2018, the registered voters of the Holbrook Unified School District # 3 of Navajo County, Arizona will be asked to vote on a Special Election regarding the 2019/2020 (Maintenance and Operations Fund) Budget Override.

The proposed override would continue the current budget override, which was approved by voters in 2013.

On May 8, 2018, the Governing Board of the District (the “Governing Board”) passed and adopted a resolution calling a special override election (the “Election”) to authorize the Override.  A copy of such resolution is available from the District by written request to the Superintendent, Holbrook Unified School District No. 3 of Navajo County, Arizona, 1000 N. 8th Avenue, P.O. Box 640, Holbrook, Arizona 86025, Telephone (928) 524-6144.

The proposed continuation of the override in the budget of the District that exceeds the amount permitted pursuant to Section 15-905, Arizona Revised Statutes, will be not to exceed the otherwise allowable revenue control limit by more than ten percent.

The proposed 10% override authorization is a continuation of the District’s current 10% override authorization approved by the voters in the District on November 5, 2013.  The District’s current 10% override authorization is required by law to be reduced by one-third in each of fiscal years 2019/2020 and 2020/2021.
