Congrats to all Roadrunners that received Next Level Roadrunner 2.0 recognition tonight at the annual Dean McNamee Awards Banquet! When One Roadrunner Succeeds, We All Succeed!

Today, around 11 am, HUSD will celebrate the valor of our American Veterans as hundreds of Veteran motorcyclists travel down Buffalo Street on their annual cross-country ‘Run for the Wall’. There will be a police escort and traffic around schools will be limited for about a half-hour! This is an amazing event to recognize our Veterans. We invite the public to join us! Please avoid parking or driving down Buffalo Street during this time! The Veterans will be served lunch at the American Legion! Thank you Veterans!

Greetings Roadrunners! HHS graduation is just around the corner! We are excited for this special event to celebrate Roadrunner success! We want to remind our parents, staff, students and community that this event will include a firework show, sponsored by the Senior Class, at the conclusion of graduation. In addition, we ask that everyone is cautious with traffic patterns, speeds, and overall safety before and after graduation! Roadrunner Stadium seating will open at 5:00 pm. As in the past, each Senior will receive 6 tickets for on-field seating. Seniors will also have one car pass to park in the parking lot near the stadium. General parking will occur in the GGPAC parking lot area. New this year! Roadrunner Stadium has new lighting that can be used for strobe lighting as well as change colors to red and blue. If anyone attending graduation has specific sensitivities to lights, please notify the school district ahead of graduation at 928-524-6144. Finally, we ask that there are no on-field poppers or streamer fireworks to ensure safety remains a top priority. Senior banners will be put up along Navajo and Hopi Blvds this Friday and graduation will begin at 7 pm on Friday, May 24th at Roadrunner Stadium! We are excited for the week ahead! Kehng Begay (Class of 2022) graduated from Eastern Arizona College with honors earning him distinction as this year's commencement speaker at EAC! Next Level Roadrunners doing great things! Once A Roadrunner, Always A Roadrunner- Kehng! Congratulations!

This afternoon the Mason's Lodge of Holbrook surprised two HJHS teachers as recent state winners of their "Classroom Project Grant Program". Congratulations to Ms. Manning-8th Gr. Science and Ms. Jimenez-STEM! We are excited to see what great projects you have planned for your classrooms. 🎉 Thank you to Bill Jeffers and the Mason's Lodge for supporting schools and teachers! 🌟

NEXT LEVEL ROADRUNNERS! Seniors Logan Begay and Holden Nez have earned their AutoCAD industry Certification (ACU) and have both started businesses offering house plans and drafting services. The business Logan Begay started is called: Begay Designs LLC The business Holden Nez started is called: RedBird Design LLC Architectural Drafting teacher, Mike Burks, worked to help these students pass their industry certifications. Jason Foutz, local business owner and Automotive Collision Teacher, guided both students through the process to form their own LLCs. Starting careers in high school- now that is NEXT LEVEL boys! Congratulations! Thanks for being Roadrunners!

Talk about Roadrunner 2.0 effort! The District Office staff held a Healthy Holbrook steps challenge in April and accomplished 2,595,089 combined steps! Congrats to Lauren, HUSD Business Manager, for accomplishing 553,720 steps for first place! Healthy Holbrook Roadrunners!

Roadrunner 2.0 in action! Victor Padilla, HUSD Project Manager, completed his first Cactus Man Triathlon at Tempe Town Lakes this past Sunday! Another Roadrunner taking it to the Next Level!

HJHS Loves Our Community! Holbrook Junior High School engaged in a Community and Family Engagement (CAFE) activity today! Holbrook Mayor, Kathleen Smith, hosted a "Mayoral Forum" teaching HJHS youth how our community and city council functions. Students learned about leadership skills, hard skills vs soft skills, what the council has control over or doesn't and how they-themselves can have their voice heard and make a difference in their community; as well as honoring the "Mayor for the Day", 7th Grader Rylie Patterson. **Mayor Rylie and her own city council members hosted a "call to the public" session where some of our students spoke about their "concerns/asks".** The "Love Our Community" morning concluded with a "S. W. O. T Visioning Session" where a group of HJHS students engaged in focusing on Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats to share with the Holbrook City Council. **It was a successful morning of connecting our youth with our community! THANK YOU to Holbrook Mayor Smith, Linda Kor, Talaiina Kor and the students of HJHS!**

Indian Wells Elementary had a wonderful CAFE (Community And Family Engagement) event tonight! Students presented on why they love their communities and what they want to see developed in their communities! Lots of great presentations and the NAVIT Cosmology program even did haircuts while HHS Fusion entertained!Way to go Roadrunners!!!

Last Lap! The HHS Roadrunner Senior track athletes had a memorable "last lap" at the Snowflake Invitational recently! Seniors were honored by taking a final lap around the track as Senior student-athletes! A memorable moment! Thank you Snowflake High School for this opportunity and thank you Seniors for being Roadrunners!
