At Park and Hulet Elementary Schools, one of the things we LOVE most about our schools is the incredible support and involvement of our community! ❤️
Yesterday, we were reminded just how fortunate we are to have such amazing community partners during our Red Ribbon Week and Love Our Schools Kickoff Assembly – “Be a Hero, Be Drug Free!” 🦸♂️🦸♀️
We were honored to welcome so many community heroes, including representatives from Core Construction, our City Mayor, EMS, Fire Department, Police Department, Sheriff's Department, Dr. Black, our School Nurse, Dr. McGee, local coaches, high school students, and our Superintendent, Dr. K!
Several of our community heroes shared powerful messages with our students about the importance of making positive choices, being a hero, and staying drug free. To end our assembly, these amazing individuals created a Hero High-Five Tunnel, cheering on our students and reminding them that they have an entire community supporting them! 🙌❤️
THIS is what LOVE OUR SCHOOLS looks like! 🏫❤️ It is more than just a week of celebration. It is the love, encouragement, partnerships, and support our community provides throughout the entire school year. From assemblies and special events to everyday opportunities that make a difference in the lives of our students, our community continues to show up for our Roadrunners!

We will kick off Red Ribbon Week with a special assembly for our students at 1:00 PM at the Holbrook High School Auditorium. We are excited to welcome special guests who are heroes from our community to help us share the importance of making positive choices, staying drug-free, and being a hero in our everyday lives!
Park School: Students will begin loading buses at 12:45 PM to travel to the auditorium.
Hulet School: Students will begin walking to the auditorium at approximately 12:45 PM.
Assembly: Begins at 1:00 PM and is for our students, featuring special guests from our community.
We are asking ALL students and staff to WEAR RED on Monday as we come together to kick off Red Ribbon Week and celebrate the importance of making healthy, safe, and responsible choices!

📚 Power of Five Tutorial Begins October 19th
For students who have been invited to participate in our Power of Five Tutorial Program, sessions will begin on Monday, October 19th. Please make sure you are aware of your student's scheduled tutorial days and times and have made arrangements for transportation home.
🥫 Community Food Drive: October 19th – November 13th
We are excited to kick off our annual food drive to help support families in need throughout our community! We will be collecting non-perishable food items from October 19th through November 13th.
To make things a little more exciting, the class at each grade level that collects the most non-perishable food items will earn a special prize! We encourage all families who are able to participate to help us make a positive difference in our community. Every donation counts!
🧥 Cooler Weather Reminder
As the temperatures begin to drop, please remember to dress your students appropriately for the changing weather. We encourage families to dress students in layers and send them with a warm jacket or coat, especially for those chilly mornings and outdoor recess times. We want all of our Roadrunners to stay warm, comfortable, and ready to learn!

October has been filled with wonderful activities so far, and we are incredibly grateful for the amazing community that continues to support Park and Hulet Elementary Schools! 🏫❤️
📚 Reading Around the World – Family Engagement Night: We kicked off October with our Café (Community and Family Engagement) Night, where students and families enjoyed stories from around the world! We were blessed to have so many wonderful staff and community members volunteer their time to share their love of reading with our students.
🚒 Fire Safety Assembly: A special thank-you to our local volunteer fire department for taking the time to visit our students and teach them important lessons about fire safety!
🎶 Rockin' Roadrunners Choir: We are so proud of our talented Rockin' Roadrunners, who had the opportunity to perform at the District Choir Festival! What a wonderful experience for our young singers!
🏈 Homecoming Week Spirit: Our students had a wonderful time celebrating Homecoming Week by participating in fun dress-up days and showing their school spirit! A special thank-you to our families who took the extra time and effort to help their children dress up and participate throughout the week. We loved seeing the creativity, excitement, and Roadrunner pride displayed by our students!
🏆 First Quarter Honors Assemblies: We also had the privilege of celebrating our students' academic achievements, positive behavior, and successes during our first quarter Honors Assemblies at both Park and Hulet Elementary! We are so proud of our students for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to following the Roadrunner Way! A heartfelt thank-you to the families and community members who joined us to recognize and celebrate these accomplishments. Your presence and encouragement mean so much to our students and make these celebrations even more special!

None of these memorable experiences would be possible without the dedication of our incredible Park and Hulet staff, the generosity of our community partners and volunteers, and the families who make the effort to support school activities, help their children participate, and attend events beyond the school day.

Celebrating Our Rich Roadrunner Heritage & Wishing HUSD a Restful Fall Break!
As Fall Break begins, we wish all of our Roadrunners a safe, restful, and rejuvenating break.
Today, we also extend a warm and respectful Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day to our entire HUSD family!
As we reflect on our shared commitment to Helping Unique Students Develop, we proudly honor the rich heritage, strong culture, and unique contributions of the more than 1,200 Native American students who choose to be HUSD #3 Roadrunners!
HUSD #3 is uniquely enriched by students and staff representing numerous tribal nations, including the Apache Tribe of Oklahoma, Assiniboine & Sioux Tribes of Fort Peck, The Cheyenne & Arapaho Tribes, Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, Gila River Indian Community, Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians, Haudenosaunee Confederacy (Iroquois), The Hopi Tribe, Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma, Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians, Navajo Nation, Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma, Pueblo of Jemez, Pueblo of Laguna, Pueblo of Zuni, Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, San Carlos Apache Tribe, Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate, Tohono O'odham Nation, White Mountain Apache Tribe, Yavapai-Apache Nation, as well as our Hawaiian and Filipino relatives, among many others.
Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from September 15th through October 15th, give us the opportunity to celebrate the 366 Hispanic families that choose to be Roadrunners! HUSD #3 would like to recognize our multi-generational Mexican-American families whose ancestral ties, rich cultural traditions, and centuries of history in Holbrook and Northern Arizona remain a vital part of our community’s story.
Finally, we celebrate ALL Roadrunners for the putting the "U" in HUSD #3! We are inspired by the rich cultures, diversity and the bond that we all share as Roadrunners! As we say, "Once A Roadrunner, Always a Roadrunner!"
