Dear Indian Wells Families,
Our elementary schools in conjunction with HUSD#3 and the Arizona Department of Education have created an emergency Instructional Time Model Plan for the 2021-2022 school year.
In the event of inclement weather and/or health and wellness intermittent campus closure we will be able to still provide schooling through online/virtual delivery. If the school is unable to provide on-campus operations students and teachers will work through Google Classroom. Teachers may also hold live sessions via Google Meets.
Students will be expected to complete assignments posted in Google Classroom and/or attend live or recorded Google Meet sessions in order to receive attendance credit for the day of school campus closure. Teachers will post the lessons and live session information no later than 8:30 am the morning of any school campus closure.
We understand that not every student has technology at home. We will make our best efforts to make notification of school closures with enough time for students to take their Chromebooks home. Furthermore, we will make an effort to make all material available offline in case students do not have internet access at home.
If the internet is a concern and will not be available for your child in the event of campus closure please contact the school office at 928-654-3622 and we will try to work with you to accommodate your needs.
It is our hope that we will not have to utilize this emergency situation Instructional Time Model plan during the 2021-2022 school year. However, having it in place ensures that our teachers will be able to continue to provide academic services if needed.

The first day of the 2021-2022 School Year is Wednesday, August 4th.
IWE will require staff and students to wear masks as we return to in person school. We will continue to work as a team to maintain healthy buildings to ensure we provide a safe, healthy, and educational environment for our students.
All students returning to Indian Wells are required to complete the 2021-2022 registration before returning at the start of the school year. If you have not completed your child’s school registration, please do so as soon as possible. You can register online through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. If you need help or have questions, please contact Lea at (928) 654-3622.

Kindergarten Early Start
All incoming Kindergarten students may sign up for a new program "Kindergarten/1st Grade Early Start" for SY 21-22.
What: An opportunity for Kindergarten and First Grade students
When: July 26th-29th
Where: Indian Wells Elementary School
Who: All new Kindergarten students and 1st Grade students for SY 21-22
Why: An early start is a smart start! IWES wants to get our incoming Kindergarten students and those entering 1st grade off to a great start. Sign up now for the early start program. Just Kindergarten and First Grade students will be at school from 8 am to 1 pm to orient students back for SY 21-22.
Facemask will be required and provided by the school.
Bus routes will run on July 26th, 27th, 28th and 29th.
Breakfast and lunch will be served.
We are excited to give our young learners an early start!

All Kinder through 6th Grade registration can be completed online.
Preschool registration requires a packet that can be picked up at the front office.
