Dear Families,
Today is the big dayโthe first day of school! Weโre so excited to welcome our Roadrunners back for a fantastic year ahead.
As we kick off the new year, we kindly ask for your help to ensure student safety and smooth operations during drop-off and pick-up:
๐ Morning Drop-Off:
Drive slowly and be alert for students walking to school.
Stop for school buses when their flashers are on.
When dropping off your child, please pull all the way up to the front of the school.
Our staff will be there to greet your child and assist them out of the car.
Please remain in your vehicleโthis helps keep traffic moving efficiently and safely.
๐ Dismissal Reminders:
If you have a change to your childโs dismissal plan, please call the office before 2:00 PM.
No last-minute changes will be accommodated to ensure student safety and smooth transitions.
If you are picking up your child in the afternoon, please be patient and stay in the car line while we learn your vehicles.
Today, you will receive a name plate with your childโs nameโplease place it in your window to help us speed up the pick-up process.
๐ Bus Riders:
Our bus drivers are also learning new routes and stop locations.
Please be patient and allow extra time during the first few weeks of school, especially when waiting at afternoon bus stops.
We truly appreciate your patience and support. The first few weeks can be a little slower, but the process gets faster as we learn and settle into our routines. Your cooperation helps us keep all students safeโour number one priority.

Dear Roadrunner Families,
As we begin an exciting new school year, we want to share an important goal for our school community: improving attendance and reducing chronic absenteeism across all grade levels.
At Holbrook Unified School District #3, we know that every day in school matters. Research consistently shows that students who attend school regularly are more likely to succeed academically, stay on track, and build strong relationships that support their growth.
๐ก Did You Know?
A student is considered chronically absent if they miss 10% or more of the school year, whether the absences are excused or unexcused. That adds up quicklyโjust 2 days a month can place a student at risk!
๐ซ Why Attendance Matters:
Builds strong academic habits
Improves reading and math performance
Encourages social development and classroom engagement
Creates consistent routines for success
We absolutely understand that there are times when absences are unavoidableโillness, medical appointments, and family emergencies happen. Our goal is not perfection, but progress and partnership. We are committed to supporting our students and families however we can.
โ What You Can Do:
Schedule appointments outside of school hours when possible
Keep routines consistent with bedtime and morning routines
Let us know if you're facing challengesโweโre here to help!
๐ข Stay tuned for exciting initiatives and incentives that weโll be rolling out to encourage great attendance throughout the year.
Thank you for helping us build a culture of learning where every student shows up, grows, and succeeds. Together, we can make a difference.
With appreciation,
Mrs. Tow
