Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholar Program

Eligibility:

  • Must be of Hispanic heritage

  • U.S. citizen, permanent legal resident, or DACA

  • Minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for high school students; minimum of 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for college and graduate students

  • Plan to enroll full-time in an accredited, public or not-for-profit, four-year university, or graduate school, in the U.S., for the 2023-2024 academic year

  • Submit the FAFSA or state-based financial aid forms (if applicable) by going to this website: Hispanic Scholarship Fund

Bioscience Research Internship
If you are a senior that is interested in a bioscience research internship through U of A this summer the application opens on November 1st 2023.  

The 2024 KEYS Research Internship will take place from June 3 - July 19, 2024 and be conducted in person on the UArizona campus. In addition to traditional in-person bioscience internships on campus, we will also be offering a select number of virtual internships for highly motivated students with interests and/or skills in computational biology and/or bioinformatics. 

Our staff is excited to share about the innovative research projects your students can participate in both on-campus and online. We have attached our program flyer and recruitment slideshow to this email for you to share with your students. We have also included a link to our webpage below that provides a video overview of the 2024 KEYS program.

Applications for the 2024 program open on Wednesday, November 1st, and close on Wednesday, January 10th.

Applicants are no longer required to submit an external letter of interest but instead will be required to answer short essay questions within the application. Students will also be asked to upload their own unofficial transcript through the application. All other components of the application will remain the same as in previous application cycles.

Nike HSI Scholarship Program
The Nike HSI Scholarship Program is designed to empower young leaders who currently attend a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI).

  • Must be of Hispanic heritage

  • Minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).

  • Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited, public or not-for-profit, four-year university that is officially designated as a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) – as defined by the Higher Education Act of 1965. For more information, visit the US Department of Education NCES list.

  • No documents are required for the successful submission of Phase I. In October, students selected to proceed in the application process will be required to submit their undergraduate transcript(s), financial aid award letter, and enrollment verification.

  • Students who are first-year undergraduates, and who do not have undergraduate grades for summer/fall 2023, must submit their high school transcript in October, if they proceed in the application process. Students who submit a high school transcript must have obtained a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).

Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation Scholarship

Dorrance Scholarship
The Dorrance Scholarship is now open.   The link to apply is listed at the bottom of the information.   The program has strict deadlines that information is located under the application link, please be mindful of this when applying your FAFSA (student portion) must be 100% completed to be eligible.

Eligibility to Apply
You may be eligible if you:

  • Are an Arizona resident

  • Are a current graduating senior attending a public, private, charter, or home school

  • Will be a first-generation college student (neither parent, stepparent, or legal guardian holds a four-year degree from any country)

  • Have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA (weighted or unweighted)

  • Have a minimum test score of 1110 SAT, 22 ACT, or 72 CLT

  • Demonstrate financial need by completing the FAFSA

  • Plan to attend ASU-Tempe, NAU-Flagstaff, UA-Tucson

  • Agree to live in on-campus housing during freshman and sophomore year

Eligibility for Award
Recipients of the award will:

  • Sign the Scholar Participation Agreement

  • Agree to participate in all aspects of the program and be eligible to travel internationally

  • Attend the Dorrance New Scholar Orientation

  • Successfully complete the Dorrance Summer Bridge Program

Renewal Criteria
Current scholars will:

  • Attend all Program meetings and events

  • Maintain a 3.0 GPA

  • Study full-time

  • Perform volunteer service

  • Submit a year-end report

  • Complete the FAFSA annually
