HUSD #3 Loves Our Indian Education Program!
Heart + Culture + Community = Our purpose.
The HUSD #3 Indian Education Program is proud to share a snapshot of the meaningful work happening in our department! Take a look at what we've been up to:
⭐ A-Mazing Highlight: National Recognition!
We are celebrating our incredible staff! Both of our dedicated Navajo Language teachers have been recognized nationally, each earning the title of a National Johnson O’Malley Educator of the Year! 🏆 This outstanding achievement highlights the commitment and excellence driving our language preservation efforts.
📈 Success in Community Engagement
We've been strategically focused on building stronger, more authentic connections with the communities we serve. Thanks to successful family/community events, like a reading night at Park and our highly attended Native Education Summit, we've seen a significant increase in engagement! We're excited to continue this momentum with more events planned for November—check out the calendar of events: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GbtWeCFYaIUKfgetcf6qdejQxu4ze4tY/view?usp=sharing
❤️ Why We Love Our Department
Being a part of Indian Education is deeply meaningful because it gives us the opportunity to serve our Native students, families, and communities in ways that truly honor who we are and where we come from.
Every day, we help preserve our languages, celebrate our rich cultures, and empower our youth to see their identity as a source of strength and pride. Our work is about ensuring every student feels a sense of belonging and representation, knowing they are valued and capable of achieving their dreams while staying grounded in their traditions. We are connecting the past, present, and future of our people through education that truly reflects us.
Want to learn more about our upcoming events and programs? Contact: Indian Education Director Bernice Gover at bgover@holbrook.k12.az.us!
