Today, HJHS welcomed the Hulet 5th graders on campus to meet the teachers, tour the campus, learn about what it means to be in junior high and get some of their questions answered. Their biggest excitement seemed to be around the Roost, Jr. (Snack Bar) and being allowed to eat their lunches outside. The visiting 5th graders were Respectful, Responsible and Reliably Safe. We are looking forward to seeing them back on campus as 6th graders in August.

HJHS Loves Our Community! Holbrook Mayor, Kathleen Smith, hosted a "Mayoral Forum" teaching our HJHS youth how our community and city council functions. Students learned about leadership skills, hard skills vs soft skills, what the council has control over or doesn't and how they-themselves can have their voice heard and make a difference in their community; as well as honoring the "Mayor for the Day", 7th Grader Rylie Patterson. **Mayor Rylie and her own city council members hosted a "call to the public" session where some of our students spoke about their "concerns/asks".** Then we ended our "Love Our Community" morning with a "S. W. O. T Visioning Session" where a group of HJHS students engaged in focusing on Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats to share with the Holbrook City Council. **It was a Successful morning of Connecting our Youth with our Community! THANK YOU to Holbrook Mayor Smith, Linda Kor, Talaiina Kor and the students of HJHS!**
