HJHS Reminder! TOMORROW… Tuesday, April 12th the students of HJHS will participate in their required AZ Department of Education State Writing Assessment! Please ensure your child arrives to school on time so they are able to Give No Less Than Their Best! Checking students out early could jeopardize their ability to complete their test at their own pace. Once the test is started they must finish the same day. Thank you for supporting and encouraging your child to do their best with their state testing.

HJHS! State Testing...Just a reminder: The Arizona State Science Test will be given tomorrow, Wednesday, April 6th for all 8th graders as required by the Arizona Department of Education. We ask that you make sure your child is well rested and arrives to school on-time so they are ready to give "No Less Than Their Best"! All 6th-8th Grade Students will be taking the Arizona State Writing Test next week then followed by the Arizona State ELA and Math Tests the following week. HJHS presents: Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr. Performances at the George Gardner Performing Arts Center! 7 pm Friday and Saturday! Come enjoy this outstanding performance!

HJHS! The HJHS Musical Performers in Schoolhouse Rock, Live!! Jr. performed a preview show for the school today! WOW! What a performance it was! Community performances will be held on Friday and Saturday, April 1st & 2nd at the GGPAC (HHS Auditorium) at 7:00pm. We hope you can come out to support the junior high performers. You won’t want to miss it!

HJHS! The 8th Grade AVID students presented the AVID program to Hulet 5th grade classes this morning. They shared their future goals, what AVID is, they played a class bonding game and answered questions as the 5th graders prepare for their transition to being junior high students!

HJHS! The HJHS Robotics/STEAM Club robots are on the move. Their Initial phase of programming is a success! The students are learning and implementing skills that will carry them into the future of this technological world!

HJHS!! Serving our Community the Roadrunner Way! Our Junior High Student Council members supporting the Holbrook Public Library with their “Drive-Thru Story Celebration” this evening… Way to Make Us Proud!

HJHS! Check this out.... Our after-school Robotics/STEAM Club is busy building Lego ev3 Mind Storm Robots. Next week they will be programming them so that they can use port view, move straight, make turns, display text and graphics and create custom images and sounds. How cool is that? Check back next week for more on this project!

HJHS! What better way is there to end the day before Spring Break than with some friendly competition. Today's "Positive Connections" Class Games was a blast and full of students working together, communicating, supporting each other and simply having fun together. It's great to see the students supporting each other in such a positive way! Thank you HJHS Student Council for planning and organizing these fantastic games. Reminder: No School Next Week--March 14th-18th. Happy Spring Break to All!

HJHS! 8th Grade Science--Learning In Action: Mr. Matt Smith with the Petrified Forest National Park visited today as the classes wrapped up their unit on the rock cycle and weathering/erosion/deposition. Mr. Smith expanded on teaching the importance of the Petrified Forest for studying igneous/sedimentary rocks and the changes brought onto the area by weathering/erosion/deposition as well as the affects to animal life. The students enjoyed their day of scientific learning.

HJHS! Reminder: Spring Pictures will be taken tomorrow, Monday, March 7th for students in grades 6th-8th who are ordering a package. Plus, the 8th Grade Panoramic Group Photo will be taken.

HJHS!! Congratulations Mya Francisco!! White Mountain League 3-Point Shot Champion!! Way to Go, Mya!

HJHS! White Mountain League Finals today, Saturday, March 5th. While the HJHS Roadrunners are not playing in the finals today , 8th graders, Mya Francisco and Daniel John will be representing HJHS Roadrunners in the White Mountain League All-Star Game!! Landen Brown and Mya Francisco will be participating in the 3-point contest during half time of the All-Star Games! The All-Star Games will be played in the HHS Gym at 4:00pm (Girls) & 5:00pm (boys). Good Luck to Mya, Daniel and Landen! Today's Events: Admission-$4.00 adults; $2.00 students; under 5-free HJHS Students planning to attend without parent supervision need to bring their event pass.

Great job to our 7th and 8th grade band students. They’ve worked hard this year and have shown so much growth! Great concert! Also, a shout out to the Hulet band for joining our performers on a “Mission to Rock”!

HJHS! Want to support the HJHS band? If so, come on out tonight, Thursday, March 3rd to support the HJHS band as they perform at the GGPAC 7:00pm. The students have worked hard this year. We hope to see you there.

HJHS! How exciting is this? HJHS Jr. Roost/Snack Bar Coming Soon! Our guys, along with the High School Construction class, have been working hard to get this built for the students of HJHS! We can't wait for our students to have this additional perk!

HJHS!! Elks Hoop Shoot Arizona Champion, Payton Orton, 10-11 year old category moved on to compete in the Western US region competition in Las Vegas, NV. Payton represented Arizona well taking 2nd place in Las Vegas. Payton has worked hard to be one of the best free-throw shooters for her age group in the Western US. A Big Congratulations to Payton! We are so proud of her!!

HJHS! Spring Pictures are Almost Here. Monday, March 7th spring pictures will be taken at HJHS for students purchasing a package. ALL 8th Graders: A Panoramic Group Picture will be taken on this day (March 7th), as well. You won't want to miss it! Picture ordering packets were sent home with students today (2/28/22).
