Your donation helps Holbrook public school children have the extra opportunity to participate in academic, athletic, musical, and vocational education competitions, tournaments, and camps— programs that the school may otherwise not provide without these funds. Additionally, your donations help provide the needed equipment to enhance and improve the quality of these activities. The opportunities are great with your contribution!

What is It?

Arizona Law (ARS 43-1089.01) allows taxpayers to claim a tax credit if they make a donation to a public school extracurricular activity. Married couples filing jointly can donate up to $400 and individual taxpayers can donate up to $200 when they contribute to extra-curricular activities in public schools.

Who Can Contribute?

This tax credit is available to all who reside in Arizona and have a tax liability at least equal to that of their donation (donations in excess of liabilities can be carried to future years). You do not have to be a parent of a child in our school district to benefit from this law. You donate your contributions directly to the schools. This means we use your donations to directly support student activities of the school of your choice. Corporations are not eligible to contribute.

When Can I Make My Donation?

Donors have up until tax filing deadline each year (typically April 15th unless on a weekend) to make their donation for the year they are filing. Your donation will be accepted anytime during the year. Between January 01 and tax filing deadline you will be asked to specify the tax year in which you are making the donation - for the current tax year or the prior tax year.

What is the CTDS Number for Filing and Where do I find It?

New starting with Tax Year 2018 you must provide a CTDS number on your tax return if claiming a tax credit.  The CTDS number stands for County (C), Type of District (T), District Number (D), and School (S). Holbrook Unified School District is identified as 090203.  Each school has a unique number as show below:

  • Hulet Elementary School - 102

  • Park Elementary School - 103

  • Indian Wells Elementary School - 104

  • Holbrook Junior High School - 106

  • Holbrook High School - 207

If you made a donation to Indian Wells Elementary School you would add 104 to the end of the district number so that it reads 090203104. If your donation was to Holbrook High School you would report it as 090203207.

In addition to finding the numbers here, we have included them on the receipts that are mailed out following the receipt of a donation.
