Huge Congratulations to Tucker Orton!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Tucker Orton’s phenomenal performance at the National Hoop Shoot Competition in Chicago! Tucker stepped onto the big stage and locked in, sinking a stellar 20 out of 25 free throws.

Competing at the national level takes more than just skill—it takes Roadrunner nerves of steel, hours of practice, and a true competitive spirit. Tucker showed all three , representing our school and community with class and precision.

Tucker has a chance to return to the free throw line for 3 more years in the Elks Hoop Shoot Competition!

Keep hooping Tucker and to all Roadrunners ages 8-12, YOU could be next! Start shooting free throws now! The next competition will be in December!

A huge thank you to everyone that supported Tucker on this journey!

By the way, 25/25 won it all! Amazing! Tucker is on his way to this level of perfection!

It is an incredible time for the Roadrunner community!

Tucker Orton has had an outstanding Elks Hoop Shoot journey since January and seeing a Roadrunner represent Arizona on the national stage in Chicago is truly special.

For those following along, here is the breakdown of the big event:

The 2026 Elks Hoop Shoot National Finals
When: This Saturday, April 18, 2026
Where: Wintrust Arena, Chicago, Illinois

Tucker is competing in the Boys 10-11 division. He earned his spot by winning the Arizona State Championship and then clinching the West Regional title in Las Vegas with a clutch performance.

Tucker isn’t just a sharp-shooter; he’s a great example of the "Roadrunner Way." To make it to the National Finals, a contestant typically has to beat out thousands of other kids across local, district, state, and regional levels.

Check out Tucker's introduction by the National Elks Association: https://www.youtube.com/clip/UgkxeVJT5X60LaY4TxRI8ayrY1vA1DWiGAfV

A huge thank you to the Holbrook Elks Lodge #2450 and the Arizona Elks Association for creating these opportunities for kids!

Whether that final ball swishes or rattles, Holbrook is already incredibly proud of your grit, hard work, and dedication!

Good luck in the Windy City, Tucker! You will have Roadrunners at home cheering you on!

Through Community and Family Engagement HUSD #3 is Energizing Roadrunners!

The HUSD #3 , in partnership with Heart of America, Cal Poly students, Next Power and Solv, have completed a third solar installation project which was a massive success! This project was only possible through the combined efforts of an amazing team.

A huge thank you to CalPoly, Heart of America, Next Power, and Solv, alongside the vital local leadership including Indian Education Director, Bernice Gover and HUSD #3 Liaison Heather Manygoats; as well as, the many great people at HUSD #3 that made this project happen!

These partnerships do more than just complete projects—they truly strengthen the fabric of our community.

By bringing such a large, dedicated group of volunteers to Holbrook, we were thrilled to provide a much-needed economic boost to our beloved local businesses:

Our volunteers rested up at a local hotel- over 50 volunteers!
Enjoyed fantastic meals at local restaurants!
Frequented many other business in their days spent in Holbrook!
They participated in the Holbrook Junior High School CAFE event on Tuesday night!
They even took time to explore the breathtaking Petrified Forest and Painted Desert!

By visiting our town and supporting the local businesses who make Holbrook thrive, these amazing volunteers invested directly in our community's future and most importantly installed solar on 15 Roadrunner family homes!

Thank you to everyone who made this happen.
