Holbrook High School students recently attended the Sun Clan Sparks of Possibility Leadership Conference in Phoenix where they learned listening, speaking, collaboration and overall leadership skills! A great opportunity for students! Thank you to the HUSD Indian Education program for this unique learning opportunity!
Congratulations to Hulet Elementary School Music Teacher, Heidi Hunsaker, for being awarded the APS Supply My Classroom recipient! 🎉 John Penrod from APS surprised her with a certificate and a $500 prepaid card to use for classroom supplies. The parade will now take place on Friday, October 3rd.

Roadrunners Being The One to help end cancer!
The Climb to End Cancer in Flagstaff brought together 12 participants representing HUSD for a powerful cause. The group completed a challenging 7 mile uphill trek to Snowbowl, raising awareness and showing support for the fight against cancer. Their effort highlighted both the physical challenge of the climb and the shared commitment to making a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer. Participating this year were: Adicia Paschal , Andrea Tomlin , Ashley Speers , Connie Gover , Deb Koerperich , Gypsi Gover, Karissa Calamity, Roni Orton , Sandra (Bernice) Gover , Sara Speers , Saraphania Benally and Shawn Goza!

HUSD #3 Indian Education Parent Meeting- Join us on Monday, September 8th at 5:00 PM (MST) in the IWES Library for our monthly Indian Ed Parent Meeting! This month’s meeting will feature: Grow Arizona – sharing post–high school resources for students and families & Haskell Indian Nations University Athletics – Students interested in playing college sports can learn more at an information session with Men's Associate Basketball Coach Macaulay Brown. HUSD #3 was gifted funds by the Little Colorado Medical Center CEO Mr. Travis Udall and staff members Ashley Wilke and Melanie Chatter to be used for HUSD #3 athletics! The Little Colorado Medical Center performed physicals for HUSD #3 student-athletes in July and donated all proceeds back to HUSD #3 athletics! Receiving the donation is Superintendent Koerperich, Business Manager Lauren Maestas, Athletic Director Greg Perkins and HHS student-athletes! Thank you Little Colorado Medical Center for your partnership with HUSD #3!

Heart of America is bringing solar energy to 25 more homes for families of students in the Holbrook and Winslow school districts who currently live without electricity on tribal lands. Installation dates are still being finalized but are expected to take place between late October and early November.

Mr. Marotta was a phenomenal speaker that gave motivational, practical and applicable strategies for all HUSD #3 staff to "Be the One" for our Roadrunners this year.
New staff to HUSD #3 were recognized and veteran Roadrunner staff were recognized for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and even 35 (Jimmie Lano) consecutive years as a Roadrunner!
