Grow AZ held their annual job fair today at HHS. Students were able to get experience looking for jobs and seeing what jobs exist both now and after graduation! HHS student leaders gathered last Friday and Saturday with fellow student leaders from Winslow, Window Rock and Sanders to learn leadership strategies to become future leaders in our communities! The Native American Student Leadership Program, sponsored by the Johnson O'Malley Program and led by Sun Clan Consulting, focused on building communication skills, collaboration skills and teamwork! When One Roadrunner Succeeds, We ALL Succeed! CONGRATULATIONS TO JUSTIN AHASTEEN, NEWLY CONFIRMED EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE NAVAJO NATION WASHINGTON OFFICE ! Today, the 25th Navajo Nation Washington Office confirmed the appointment of Justin Ahasteen, to serve as the Executive Director of the Navajo Nation Washington Office. Mr. Ahasteen was appointed to the position by Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren in January, which was then subject to confirmation by the Council. Mr. Ahasteen is originally from White Cone, Arizona, a graduate of Holbrook High School Class of 2014, and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Prior to his appointment, he worked with the Navajo Nation Washington Office as a Government and Legislative Affairs Associate. During his service in the military, he worked at the Pentagon in Washington DC for Headquarters Marine Corps Office of Legislative Affairs where he was also selected as Marine of the Year! Community support helps develop a 100% Roadrunner performance of Annie, Jr!!! Mrs. Chantelle Taylor, HJHS and HUSD #3 would like to personally thank and recognize community volunteers Joel Ruechel as “Oliver Warbucks” and Lynda Young as stage mom and make-up director for their recent help with the Annie, Jr. production. Mr. Ruechel and Ms. Young put in over 100 donated hours to be part of the musical! 100% Roadrunner effort! Holbrook High School students Noland McCabe and Jeremiah Chatter made a special effort with their interview outfits on HHS interview day. Holbrook High School coordinated an "interview day" event involving 18 volunteers who spent the day evaluating the interview skills of more than 125 Holbrook High School seniors. It was an enjoyable and worthwhile experience for all who participated. Thank you to all who volunteered and to Ms. Overson for coordinating the event. Preparing Roadrunners for future careers!

Dear School/Community Members, HUSD #3 is excited to announce that the George Gardner Performing Arts Center will be hosting a series of outstanding performances this week. Please join us and enjoy the musical talents of our students and guest performers. Here is the schedule of events for this week: Monday, March 6th at 6 PM: HHS Band Concert Come and support the talented musicians of our high school band as they showcase their skills in a variety of pieces. It promises to be a delightful evening filled with music and entertainment. Tuesday, March 7th at 5 PM: EAC Performance Special Guests from Eastern Arizona College (EAC) Choir, Band, and Orchestra Concert. We are thrilled to welcome the Eastern Arizona College (EAC) Choir, Band, and Orchestra to our performing arts center. Join us as we host this special performance and experience a unique musical journey. Wednesday, March 8th at 6 PM: Show Choir Pre-Tour Show! The HHS Show Choir has been working tirelessly to prepare for their upcoming performances at Knott's Berry Farm and Disneyland next week. Don't miss this opportunity to see what they've been working on and get a sneak peek of their tour show. Thursday, March 9th at 6 PM: HJHS/Hulet Band Concert HJHS and Hulet Elementary bands will be taking the stage and showcasing their skills in a wonderful concert.
