Way to go, Hunter!

Huge congratulations to HHS Senior Hunter Tallsalt for officially graduating from the 2025-26 University of Arizona "Saturday Scrubs" high school program!

Hunter's dedication truly shines—he was one of 65 students to graduate from this medical prep program, which included talented participants from all over the state, spanning the greater Phoenix and Tucson areas, Yuma, and Flagstaff.

Hunter's participation and impact helped us receive a hometown shoutout during the graduation ceremony! The program director spoke about their recent May 2nd visit right here in Holbrook, where they utilized the HHS "Roost" facilities to engage interested students and apply hands-on medical teachings.

We are incredibly proud of your hard work, Hunter, and can't wait to see where your passion for medicine takes you next as Hunter will be attending U of A and aspires to be part of the medical field!

Go Roadrunners and Go Wildcats!

What an incredible weekend at our Saturday Scrub program!

A huge shoutout to our amazing students and Sports Medicine teacher, Meghan Carbonneau who spent their Saturday diving into the medical field!

We were incredibly lucky to host 8 medical students from the U of A College of Medicine – Phoenix. With an awesome 3-to-1 student-to-mentor ratio, these Roadrunners got unparalleled, hands-on instruction.

Here is what our future leaders learned how to do:
Take Vitals: Checking blood pressure and temperature.
Test Reflexes: Using reflex hammers and pen lights to check pupil dilation.
Suture Like a Pro: Practicing starting, stitching, and tying off sutures on fake skin—and eventually graduating to bananas!

After the hands-on skills lab, the students sat down for a fantastic Q&A session with the med students. They shared their personal journeys into medical school and offered golden advice on how to be successful in high school and college.

The best part? Their advice was incredibly valuable for all students, no matter what career path they are dreaming of!

Overall, it was a truly great experience for everyone involved. We can't wait to have the U of A team back!
